There is a beautiful boardwalk heading north on AIA from Velano Beach to Ponte Vedra Beach that goes over the highway, across the dunes and down to the beach... but first a high vantage point over some high dunes. This was the vista I captured in Beach Day. I love playing with the dune grasses and sea oats and turning them magic with invented color. If you look closely you will see fishermen on the beach. There is much I like about this piece... a favorite especially for how the sky became enchanted with movement, with mackerel clouds against the purplish blue. I paint my skies with acrylic paints and they require many layers to get the right depth and feel of a true sky with all the layers of clouds and light.
The Original of this piece is owned by a loyal and fun loving collector, Leslie Robinson. She and her husband Rick live on a big horse farm in Trenton... but as all Floridians do, they have close ties with Florida's watery spirit too. Available in an Archival Giclee in various sizes and prices. See Pricing & ordering folder for details.
